The Akra ORIGIN X Max S takes the proven Max pistol optic platform and adds a game-changing solar-assist power system. Under daylight or range lights the built-in solar panel helps drive the dot, dramatically extending battery life and keeping your handgun ready when it matters.

With a crisp 3 MOA red dot and a generous 24 × 17 mm window, the Max S gives you fast, intuitive target acquisition without burying the target behind the reticle. Whether you’re shooting defensive drills, club matches or just putting rounds down at the local range, the dot stays clear, sharp and easy to track through recoil.

Always-on performance

The Max S uses a CR1632 battery backed by solar assist, giving you up to 100 000 hours of runtime depending on light exposure. Add Shake-to-Wake motion activation and you get an optic that’s effectively always ready – no fiddling with buttons every time you draw from the holster.

Ten brightness levels (8 for daylight, 2 for low light) let you dial the dot for anything from harsh midday sun on a dusty range to darker indoor lanes. The controls are simple and positive, so you can adjust on the fly without coming off target.

Rugged, real-world ready

The housing is compact and lightweight but built to work: shock-rated to 1800 g, IPX7 waterproof, fogproof and lens multi-coated to reduce glare and boost contrast. That makes the Max S a solid choice for South African carry conditions – from humid coastal air to Highveld dust and summer downpours.

With its RMR footprint, the ORIGIN X Max S bolts onto most RMR-cut slides, optic-ready pistols and RMR mounting plates, and it ships with a Picatinny-to-RMR riser for PCCs and carbines. If your pistol isn’t optics-ready, it can be slide-milled by a reputable gunsmith to accept RMR pattern optics.
